Takamura studies the growth of complex oxide thin films, heterostructures and nanostructures, as well as the characterization of the new functional properties that emerge at the interfaces between two dissimilar materials.

RESEARCH PROFILE
Laser-assisted growth is used to control interfacial properties of complex oxide heterostructures with atomic-layer precision. These thin films and heterostructures are patterned into micro-/nanostructures using an ion-implantation-based patterning processed based on a local structural modification.
